Phoebe Strauss

Phoebe is a current third year student who joined the lab during Winter 2023. She is responsible for online data monitoring for the three water treatment sites in the Salinas Valley, including monthly statements for the California State Water Resources Control Board and managing MBAS (Monterey Bay Analytical Services) water quality reports. She also has two ongoing research projects; she is working on a brine management review paper to outline discharge and further processing methods, with an emphasis on inland groundwater concentrates, and she is also working on analyzing the impact of seed chemistry and antiscalant brand on seeded precipitation of brackish water brine. A few of her interests outside of the lab include doing crafts, playing violin, and cooking. She’s also a licensed scuba diver!
