Current Project

My current research focuses on calcium sulfate (gypsum) crystallization kinetics and the use of antiscalants to retard the onset of crystallization. The crystallization are carried out in a crystallization cell equipped with an ion-selective calcium electrode and a back-scattering turbidity meter. The research work is geared towards the ranking of the effectiveness of various antiscalants as a function of saturation level and the presence of other ions in solution.
